SVI Completes Second Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Program

Continuous improvement capability built across SVI's electronics manufacturing services operations

Pathum Thani, Thailand — September 11, 2026 — SVI Public Company Limited has completed the second cohort of its Lean Six Sigma Green Belt program, with 12 employees presenting improvement projects developed over 9 months of training and hands-on application on the production floor.

The program combines the formal Green Belt methodology (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control, or DMAIC) with live projects drawn from SVI's own operations, with a coaching review at every stage. Rather than classroom exercises, each team selected a real problem, gathered data from active processes, and implemented and verified its solution.

Four project themes

The projects presented on September 11 clustered around four areas that matter directly to SVI's customers.

Quality and yield. Teams applied root-cause analysis to scrap and defect reduction, strengthening material handling, contamination control, and internal transfer processes. A separate project examined component performance reliability, strengthening how SVI qualifies and handles sensitive parts. Work in this area also connected quality outcomes back to the new product introduction stage, where bill of materials accuracy shapes everything downstream.

Cost and material management. Projects targeted material consumption and inventory control, reducing cost without compromising the quality standards SVI's customers rely on.

Environmental and workplace safety. One team focused on chemical handling and safety practices, contributing to SVI's broader ESG commitments around waste reduction and safe working conditions.

Data visibility and responsiveness. A project on purchase order management introduced real-time monitoring and automated actions, giving sourcing and finance teams immediate visibility into order status and supporting faster, more accurate program updates for customers.

Continuous improvement is not a department, it is a capability we build in every team.” Dr. Raymond Ramiah , Corporate Quality Management System

Why it matters for customers

For OEMs choosing an EMS provider, process discipline is difficult to assess from the outside. Certification audits confirm that systems exist; a program like this shows they are exercised. Each Green Belt project ends with a control plan, which means improvements are sustained rather than temporary — the same principle SVI applies when transitioning customer programs from prototype and new product introduction into high-volume mass production.

The program also builds a shared problem-solving language across functions. Engineering, quality, sourcing, and finance participants worked from the same methodology and the same data, which shortens the path from problem identified to problem resolved. The Green Belt program builds on the expertise of SVI's Black Belt practitioners, who lead larger cross-functional improvement initiatives across the company.

With the second cohort complete, SVI continues to build Lean Six Sigma capability across its operations, reinforcing the process discipline customers depend on from new product introduction through high-volume production.
