Hardware companies around the world are growing fast. Battery and energy storage brands are keeping pace with strong household and commercial demand. Automotive and e-mobility businesses are designing smarter, more connected products. Agtech companies are bringing sensors, automation and connectivity to farms, orchards and greenhouses. MedTech innovators are moving from clinical trials to commercial launch. And industrial, IoT and clean energy companies are turning promising designs into products their markets want at scale.
Many of these companies began with a trusted local manufacturing partner who helped them through prototypes and early production runs. Then demand grows. Orders double, new markets open, and the question changes from "Can we build it?" to "How do we scale it without losing control?"
Local and specialist electronics manufacturers are often strong at prototyping, specialized low-volume work and close engineering support. But as volumes grow, many OEMs run into limits on capacity, cost and the ability to take on full product assembly.
The usual alternative, a large global EMS provider, often comes with a reputation for being slow, rigid and hard to reach. For a growing company, that can feel like trading one problem for another.
SVI was built to remove that trade-off.
We've been building electronics since 1985. Today, SVI brings more than 40 years of electronics manufacturing services expertise and ranks among the Top 50 EMS providers worldwide. Our 6,500+ people work across six production sites in Thailand, Cambodia, Austria, Slovakia and the USA.
Our model is simple: you own the product, and we manufacture it. We partner with OEMs to turn their designs into reliable, high-quality products at the volume their business needs. Whether you sell into one region or across several continents, you get the same engineering depth and production discipline on every program.
Mass production is at the core of what we do.
Scale only matters if it comes with flexibility. SVI combines both.
Over 40 years, SVI has built electronics for nine markets: Communication & IoT, Industrial & Automation, Automotive, E-Mobility & Public Transportation, Audio Video & Security, CleanTech & Energy, AI Data Center, Smart Living & Lifestyle, MedTech & Healthcare and Aerospace. Each one has taught us something different. Together, they mean that whatever your product is likely to face, we have probably solved it before.
When products must survive the real world
Electric buses, railway systems, EV chargers, mining vehicles and factory control systems share one thing: failure isn't an option, and conditions are rarely kind. Our work in Automotive, E-Mobility & Public Transportation and Industrial & Automation has built deep discipline in harsh-environment production. Our sites in Asia and Europe are certified to IATF 16949, and our in-house cable harness assembly follows IPC/WHMA-A-620, so critical parts are built under one roof.
When power is the product
Energy storage, solar and power conversion equipment in CleanTech & Energy, and the power and cooling control electronics behind AI Data Center infrastructure, depend on high-voltage expertise and rigorous testing. We manufacture them for the OEMs who design and own them. Battery management is a good example.
Every electric vehicle and battery system relies on a dependable Battery Management System (BMS). At Tohoku Solutions, our dedicated automotive electronics site in Thailand, we manufacture complete BMS solutions. The work covers precision PCBA, custom functional testing such as high-voltage isolation, cell balancing and CAN/LIN communication checks, and full system integration with plastic or metal housings. For OEMs that already have their own BMS design, our engineers review it for manufacturability before production begins. This covers schematics, layout, thermal behavior and sourcing risk, with unit-level traceability from the first prototype through to mass production. The result is fewer design revisions and a smoother ramp-up. Read about our approach in Preparing BMS Designs for Reliable Manufacturing.
When quality is regulated
In MedTech & Healthcare and Aerospace, quality systems matter as much as capacity. Our Thailand headquarters is ISO 13485 certified, compliant with FDA 21 CFR Part 820, certified to AS/EN 9100, and operates a 10K clean room for controlled manufacturing. ISO 13485 certified production is also available at our sites in Cambodia and Austria.
When speed to market decides the winner
Connected products move fast. Communication & IoT, our largest market, together with Audio Video & Security and Smart Living & Lifestyle, has taught us to launch quickly, refresh often and ramp hard when a product takes off. Our high mix and high volume model, with PCBA, plastic and metal parts and final assembly in one vertically integrated network, keeps cosmetic and functional quality under one roof.
When it all comes together: precision agriculture and Agtech
Precision agriculture is a clear example of how four decades of EMS experience carry over to a fast-growing application. Farm electronics bring together almost every challenge above: they must survive harsh conditions, manage power carefully, stay connected in remote places and scale quickly once they prove themselves in the field.
In the field, it starts with sensing and connectivity. Soil moisture, temperature and nutrient sensors, on-farm weather stations and tank-level monitors gather the data, while LoRaWAN, NB-IoT, cellular and satellite gateways carry it back to the farm office and the cloud. These are the low-power, wireless products at the heart of our Communication & IoT business. Irrigation and water management follow the same pattern: automated valve controllers and flow meters build on our Industrial & Automation experience, and solar-powered pump controllers bring in the power electronics know-how from our CleanTech & Energy work.
Out on the farm, modern tractors, sprayers, harvesters and agricultural drones depend on control units, operator displays, GNSS guidance modules, variable-rate application controllers and rugged wiring harnesses. That is vehicle electronics in everything but name, so our IATF 16949 certified sites apply the same automotive-grade controls, with in-house cable harness assembly to IPC/WHMA-A-620. Livestock and indoor farming bring their own needs, from GPS tracking collars, electronic ID readers and feeding and milking system controls to barn climate monitors and the climate, lighting and fertigation controllers that run greenhouses and vertical farms. After harvest, grain bin and silo monitoring systems and cold-chain data loggers help protect the crop all the way to market.
Whatever the device, the challenge is the same. It must work for years in dust, heat, humidity, rain and remote locations, where repairs are slow and costly. SVI takes your agtech product from NPI through to high-volume production, with PCBA, cable harnesses and plastic or metal enclosures produced within our own network. Unit-level traceability then helps you find the root cause quickly if a device ever fails in the field.
Whatever your industry, you get the same combination of engineering support and high-volume capability.
Whether you're preparing your first production ramp or looking for an EMS provider to support your next stage of growth, wherever your markets are, SVI is ready to help you scale with confidence.
